The 19th Annotation/Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life

Some people who have made several Montserrat Retreats begin to desire a fuller experience of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Many find their way to make the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life, also known as the 19th annotation retreat. If you are interested in more information regarding the Exercises in Everyday Life, please contact the Ignatian Spirituality Institute.

St. Edmund Campion Spirituality Center

The ministry of spirituality has grown and deepened in the universal church. Because we live in a secular culture which undervalues spiritual matters, and because life can present difficult personal experiences, we all find ourselves challenged to make our commitment to God firmer, to pray more fervently, to live life more prudently and courageously, to behave more chastely and courteously, and to love those in our lives more fully.

The St Edmund Campion Spirituality Center offers a broad set of programs responding to the church’s call to the Age of the Laity. The Spirituality Center’s programs enable growth and stretch our spirits. They move us to reach for greater service to our Creator, to the church, and to one another. Based in Ignatian principles of spiritual growth, the Center offers programs that help lay people develop their own sense of communion with God in their daily lives.

The Campion Spirituality Center currently presents programs contributing to the formation of active church ministers – including deacons, directors of and teachers of religious education, spiritual directors, ministers to the Hispanic community, and youth ministers. The Center also offers seminars and sessions that combine instruction and reflection, prayer and discussion. Incorporating topics currently important, they help all who are keen to have a deeper personal union with God and to know the Faith better.

We invite you to explore the Campion Center Programs which include days of renewal and retreat workshops. We also welcome your comments and suggestions regarding what programs and offerings may better serve the Church and your hopes as ministers serving God's people.

The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola

The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius have been a gift to the Church since the 16th century. Ignatian Spirituality flows from an experience of the Spiritual Exercises.

Diocesan and Parish Ministry Day

Montserrat has become a popular place for diocesan and parish ministries and committees to plan and pray. We welcome a variety of groups including staff of religious education offices, parish finance committees, diocesan pastoral ministry staff and directors, parish lectors and Eucharistic ministers, teenagers preparing for Confirmation and many others. Priests of several dioceses, as well as permanent deacons and their wives, come yearly. Catholic high school faculties come here themselves and also bring students to make retreats.

Inquiries are welcome; we want to share this holy place with those who need it. Visit the Facility page to learn more about our campus and how it may serve your staff retreat, conference, or planning meeting.
